Maksym Romenskyi
Born in 1971 in Ukraine. Since 2020 lives and works in PortugalStarted photography in 2000. In recent years, took part in more than 50 solo and group exhibitions, fairs and festivals around the world.In 2015, he rethought his own approach to artistic practice after communicating with Roman Piatkovka, a representative of the Kharkiv School of Photography. Studied under Georgiy Pinkhasov (MAGNUM photo agency), Roman Pyatkivka, at school of conceptual photography MYPH.Author of the series Electorate (2014 - 2018), Smoldering associations (2019 - 2020), Festa (2020 - 2024), Enchanted Forest (2020 - 2025), Sound of Venice (2020 - 2025), Slowdown (2022 - 2025) and others.He explores issues of loneliness, separation, fear and insecurity by shooting street photography, conceptual landscapes and portraits, as well as using collage techniques. Uses analog photography, old medium format cameras and archival pigment prints for most projects. This became an alter ego, a counterpoint to the second part of his professional identity (psychotherapist and coach).
